Barcelona - Costa Brava (July 19th)
I'm glad that up to this point we had managed to stay clear of
big cities. Trying to get out of Barcelona with the 5pm
traffic, and a temperature of 38ºC was pretty stressful. They have these huge 5 lane avenues with street lights
every 100m and
everybody driving all over the lanes, when the light changes there is no way of knowing how many cars will
cross on a red light. The whole situation made us pretty irritable, but that changed when we reached the coast and
started on this nice road full of curves.
We found a small place along the road, overlooking the Mediterranean, were we could park
our bikes behind some trees and roll out our sleeping bags. This was our second night sleeping under the stars.
We had bread 'n' beer for dinner and enjoyed the view.
Roads: Took the NII until Malgrat de Mar and then the C253. It is this
road that is totally amazing, between Lloret de Mar
and San Feliu de Guíxols. A definate must.
