Costa Brava - Sète (July 20th)
We started the morning continuing on the C253, the best road we had be on so far.
It had a fresh new layer of asphalt and was full of nice smooth curves that took us along the Costa Brava.
Neal and I
enjoyed this road totally on this, our last day in Spain. Spain was good
to us! It is great country for travelling; so varied, with great food
and nice people. We'll have to come back and do the missing roads!
Before we crossed over to France we stopped in la Junquera to visit the Dali museum.
We were wondering were to spend the night. Looking at the map it seemed that the area around Sète was pretty nice,
with the sea on one side and a lake on the other. It turned out as expected, there is a nice beach that goes on for
kilometers, and so we slept on the beach for our third night under the stars.
Roads: Did the second half of the C253 to San Feliu de Guíxols, and then turned off on the C250 to Gerona. Then
it was back on the NII to the border. This connects with the N9 in France which we drove on until Béziers. Forked off
on the N112 which took us along the Bassin de Thau until the outskirts of Sète.
