Marseille (July 22nd)
Ahh, Marseille. One thing about the Marseillais, they love their town and they aren't shy about it. The tour we got in Philippe's Renault was fantastic, through the VERY steep and narrow streets to various bars and sights.
Most French people will tell you about the Calenques de Cassis. A Marseillais will rave about
the Calenques de Marseille - same place, different claim - and it was this area that we hiked
through. The breathtaking scenery, refreshing ocean inlets and favorable weather made it an
unforgettable stop on our tour.
Roads: Along the D559 out of Marseilles, there are many places to park and go hiking.
