Day 9 - 14 |
It was nice to be home (I'm half spanish and all my mother's family lives around there).
We took it easy, visited
the city and made a lot of excursions along the coast. We went to the beach quite often for a tan'n'beer combo.
It was really hot there which makes it unconfortable to ride a motorcycle with all the usual gear (helmet, pants,
jacket, gloves). A lot of the locals ride these big 1000 cc bikes with just a t-shirt, shorts and sandals.
Knowing how people drive there we didn't
want to take the risk and sweated out the week under our leathers. This
was the fartest south we got on our trip; after this, we would be
starting the great long road back up towards Copenhagen.
Roads: Some nice roads to try: The road that leaves Valencia towards El Saler and Cullera
(dont know the number) is pretty good, there are a lot of side roads to the left, any of these will lead to
a nice beach. The road around Cullera that winds up the mountain along the coast is also a must try. Otherwise
there is the N332 to Ondara and then the C3311 to Denia an Xàbia. Around there the coast is pretty rocky and
there are some nice roads to Cabo de la Nao, Cap de Moraira and Calpe.
